Evil Baby

This is my favourite drawing by one of my kids so far. Charlie did it.

It's Quinn (see the sticking-straight-up ponies and flower on her shirt?) riding an evil robot while holding a rocket ship in one hand and a gun in the other.
It's accompanied by a story about how when we put her in her crib at night she pushes a secret button that turns her bedroom into a mad scientist's lab (Quinn being the mad scientist).
You can see that Quinny's reign of terror doesn't just affect me :-)

I do the kids official yearly portraits every fall. This year we couldn't seem to get it together to get out and do it, but FINALLY I got everyone dressed and organized and out to the park.
Quinn was a disaster. It was tough work, but I got a few (very few).

I was trying to do our annual fall photo shoot today, but most of the pictures turned out like this:

I've looked through them, but I'm not going to edit them until I get my friend's sitting done first. (So sorry it's taken so long, Trina.)

We were at a park taking pictures recently.
We get to the little bridge and Eloise walks the entire way like this:

She was sure it was going to fall. Weirdo!

The ponies are to cover up the horns.

And the missing boot is because she lives by her own rules.

Priorities

We had company over for dinner last night. I was talking about how the master at tae kwon do was working one on one with Max yesterday because he's having trouble learning the flying side kick, and testing is coming up.
A few minutes later I notice Max hiding under a blanket on the couch and crying.
Assuming he'd overheard and his feelings were hurt, I took him into my office to talk.
Me: What's wrong, Maxy?
Max: {unintelligible words through sobs}
Me: You need to calm down so I can understand you, Bud.
Max: You put cheese on the noodles...you know I don't like cheese!

Don't mess with that girl Quinn..she's got a crazy big brother.

Quinn was pestering Eloise during a playdate today. Elly and her friend started a "game" of sneaking up behind her and pushing her over.
Max was the one who discovered this game and it sent him into a fury of rage.
Enter Mom to sort things out.
Quinn is consoled, Eloise is sent to time out, and Max - still amped up - says: I just love her, Mom!! I would DIE for Quinny!!

Speaking of baby practical jokes..

I was pouring cereal for the kid's breakfast and emptied the box.
I pulled the bag out to put it in the garbage so I could flatten the box for recycling.
Inside the box I found a set of keys. They were unfamiliar and newish looking.
I excitedy scoured the box for something like, "Find the box with keys and WIN A NEW CAR!!"
I must've read that box a dozen times when Quincey came in and claimed the keys as his.

Why do they do this to me? Keys in the cereal box? Reeeallly???

Overheard

Max: Charlie! You're always bullying me!
Charlie: I bully you. You bully Elly. Elly bullies Quinn. Quinn bullies Mom.

Cousins that play together, bathe together..or something like that

About a month ago (still doing some photo downloading catch up :-), Aidan was over to play with Eloise. As has been discussed in great detail before, Aidan and Eloise together are - shall we say...mischievous.
It got quiet and then I heard water running. I know this game.
I go upstairs and as I'm nearing the bathroom I hear this conversation:
Aidan: Hurry up, Peach!
Eloise (whispering): shhhhh! Bowser will hear us, Yoshi!
I walk in and they scream: BOWSER!!!!

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Me: Wash the baby while you're at it.
